Don’t mix tattooing with breastfeeding. It is safe if the tattoo is an old one. But don’t go for a new one if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It’s a myth that the tattoo ink particles injected into the top layer of the skin can get inside the blood stream and ultimately into the breast milk. But the possibility of other infections and allergic reactions depending on your skin type cannot be ruled out, which may affect your baby too.
While pregnant avoid getting a tattoo, wait until you’re no longer breastfeeding. Choose a clean and hygienic tattoo parlor with professionals at work. Not following aftercare instructions may also lead to severe infections.
