Tax payer’s funded prisoners’ tattoo removal program in New Zealand is again creating ripples. More than $300,000 has been spent on removing tattoos from high-risk prisoners since 2000.
The toothless program has been a piece of mockery since its introduction, as there is no way to prove that the inmates have undergone the desired change and are now in gainful employment. Public ire is gaining momentum and the bill must be redefined ASAP.
