Hurrah! With the development of smart pigments, tattoos can now be easily removed with a single laser treatment. Smart pigments, developed by chemists in the United States, have also received FDA’s approval. The new pigments were developed long back, but were not practically applied owing to the fact that they were easily absorbed by the human body. But now, the ink is trapped in microscopic polymer beads, measuring just one to three micrometers, and injected under the skin as normally done via a tattoo gun.
The whole concept makes tattoo removal an easy and painless process, as the microscopic beads filled with body soluble ink can be burst with a single laser treatment.
