I was shocked to know that still tattoo artists and body piercers in Nova Scotia are unlicensed and running their full-fledged business, though the government is planning to regulate them now after a teen’s death in Newfoundland on March 9, one week after getting a breast piercing.
And when even the workplaces are not inspected, it’s left on the buyers to beware or face the deadly consequences including infections, blood-borne diseases, HIV, hepatitis C or hepatitis B.
The scenario is even worse in other parts of the world where people are not even aware of diseases related with getting inked or pierced in unhygienic conditions.
