Laws sans logic will always enjoy a bit of whipping and criticism here. The Princess Anne City Council wants doctors to be present at tattoo studios while clients go under the needle, apparently making things knotty for artists, clients and of course doctors too.
The law is currently enforced only in two counties in the state of Maryland.
Matt Schmidt, Living Art Tattoo Studio, said:
I can meet all the regulations otherwise, but I can’t pay $30 an hour for a doctor to sit in there, for nine hours a day. I just don’t have it.
Who’ll pay the doc’s fee and anyway, do doctors really have time to warm up the chairs at the tattoo studio? Why can’t they just implement strict laws enduring sanitation and safety?
