Meet the Godfathers of Modern Tattoo

japantattoo1japantattoo2The Japanese art of woodblock printing is set to give tattooing a new configuration. An exhibition produced by the Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center, Wood Skin Ink: The Japanese Aesthetic in Modern Tattooing will open at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii on Wednesday.
Skills and art of leading tattooists, such as Takahiro Kitamura (Horitaka), Chris Trevino, Yoshihito Nakano (Horiyoshi III), Kazuaki Kitamura (Horitomo) and Don Ed Hardy, will be displayed in the exhibition.
Don Ed Hardy, known as the Godfather of Modern Tattoo, has already taken Hollywood by storm with his matchless and out-of-the-blue art. It is an excellent way to incorporate the ancient styles into the art of tattooing. Read More>>
