Tips to maintain hygienic stretching of ear

Stretching is a way by which one can gradually widen a pierced hole in the body. This is done by slightly and slowly stretching the tissue, causing the micro tears to form in between, and then maintaining the hole till it completely heals. The process is then repeated until the desired result is achieved, thus having as large holes as required. It is advisable to take proper care so that it does not leave behind any scars.

Making a large hole at once is not advisable since ruptures can destroy the surrounding tissues and cannot return to its normal size if desired. A very large hole requires surgery even in the stretching process. Just before stretching try to moist it with salt water for as long as possible as this not only moistens up the place but also makes it soft and more apt for the process. After one sitting wait for long enough say at least 20 days to 1 month for the next sitting. The time taken can be as long as 3 months also depending upon the condition of the ear. Having one sitting after another will not only make the hole look distorted but you will also face ear problems afterwards.

The best frequency of doing it is every alternate month. If it ever starts bleeding then it means you have done the stretching too fast. So always be sure that the previous stretching has healed properly before starting a new one. After the stretching an oil massage is very relaxing as well as useful. Jojoba oil is the best because it matches very much to the oil that your body naturally secretes. Do not ever stretch your ears with improper materials like straw as this may cause infection. Never share your jewelry with anyone as this increases chances of infection. Acrylic harbors bacteria so do not use acrylic jewelry in a freshly pierced/stretched hole. Always wait for the stretching to be healed before using double flared plugs or any sort of tunnels.

Since this cannot be exactly returned back to its original form so always be sure about the step you want to take or not and never hesitate to take professional help whenever it is needed.
