With the efforts of the American Environmental Safety Institute, State Judge in California has taken a landmark step with respect to public health by asking the tattoo ink producers to issue Warnings on tattoo ink products sold by largest ink sellers – Huck Spaulding Enterprises Inc. and Superior Tattoo Equipment Co.
According to the injunction, the companies are required to warn customers by specifying warnings on their tattoo ink labels, catalogs and internet sites for their California customers.
With increasing popularity of tattoos, the order must have been issued long back. Anyway, it’s better late then never. It is the right of a consumer to know the hazardous impact a product can have on his body, if used. The companies are exposing tattoo lovers to dangerous levels of lead and other toxic metals, usually found in tattoo inks.
The order will save consumers from unwarned exposure to dangerous tattoo inks, which are hazardous to human health and give them a choice to whether go for it or not. It will also help in generating awareness amongst the users. Read More>>
