Here is something very much out of the ordinary. This special ‘Khai’ tattoo, inked on the outer calf of the left leg, is a unique piece of art in itself, besides having a sentimental attachment! The depiction of a sun with six tendrils surrounded by waves carries its own impressive meaning. The sun was meant to symbolize 21st June, the person’s son’s birthday, and also the day of summer solstice. Moreover, one can’t miss the pun between son and sun. Similarly, the six tendrils represent June, the sixth month of the year – the 21 waves etched around depict the 21st day of the month. The waves also serve to illustrate the meaning of the name of the son, Khai, which in Hawaiian, means ocean. One must say, that makes it quite a creative tattoo indeed. Call it redefining love for one’s son with ink!
